The Blaseball Star

There is a game where the sun vanishes from the sky as many-fingered birds scream. An umpire stares at you with malice. Your teammates flicker, flicker, flicker, swing. There are peanuts everywhere. Will you eat one? Will you win? 

The Blaseball Star is a teen splorts player. They are absurd, violent, humorous, and hurtling towards a threatening unknown. The Commissioner is doing a great job. 

The skin is meant to evoke both the experience of being a real-live human gambling on Blaseball games and the feeling of being an in-fiction blaseball player. Much like the actual game of Blaseball, this skin focuses on stats and chance while leaving space for the player to fill in the narrative blanks. What narrative is there is humorous and absurd, drawing on the aesthetics of horror, cryptids, and proletariat exhaustion.

The Blaseball Star’s moves care about numbers in a way other skins typically do not. Gamble Always gives you a chance at fleeting bonuses or penalties (as does Beg the Gods), while Soul Swap changes your stat scheme. You’ll have to keep track of your bonuses separately from your regular stats, gamble wildly, and make peace with the unknown. Stats and bonuses will change often; it’s up to you to decide how much you want to game the system. 

The Blaseball Star is always on: They are always performing, and are only allowed to rest when the Commissioner (doing a great job) declares a sudden Siesta. Play with overextending yourself and taking risks. Exult in the absurdity of it all. After all, We Are All Love Blaseball.
